2 adults, 1 juvenile in custody after firing shots at Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies in Bessemer

BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE (9/5/19): The suspects have been identified.

Two adults and a juvenile have been arrested after allegedly firing shots at two Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. near Arlington Ave. and 32nd Street.

The officers were in plainclothes and in an unmarked vehicle at the time of the shooting. No one was injured in the shooting.

According to authorities, the deputies were working a special detail when a vehicle passed them and came to a stop. The men exited the vehicle and shot at the deputies. Bullets struck the vehicle and the men fled. They were later found by Bessemer PD.

No formal charges have been brought against the three suspects as of yet.
