GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) —  A 15-year-old north Jefferson County teen has been charged with murder for the shooting death of a Sayre man on July 19th.

Deputies were called to the 4200 block of Levine Avenue near Graysville and found 22-year-old Austin Lee Nunn dead on the scene. A medical examination determined that Nunn had been shot.

Detectives discovered that a red SUV was spotted near the residence around the time of the murder. They cross referenced the victim’s cell phone records with vehicle registrations and learned that one of the people in his phone log owned a red SUV. They contacted the registered owner and discovered that the vehicle has been driven by a 15-year-old family member on the day of the murder.

The suspect was located and questioned. During questioning he admitted shooting Nunn during a drug deal at the home.

The teen has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder. He is in custody at the Jefferson County Youth Detention Facility.
