14-year-old boy hospitalized after vehicle accident involving WalkerCo sheriff’s deputy

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A 14-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a Walker County deputy’s patrol vehicle Friday evening.

On August 2, 2019, at the request of Jasper City Police Department, Alabama State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident in the Jasper City limits.

The accident happened at 10:51 p.m. on AL 69 south at the intersection of Old Tuscaloosa Road in Jasper, Ala., police report. The accident involved a Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy and an ATV driven by a 14-year-old boy.

The 14 year old was seriously injured and transported from the scene to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. The Sheriff’s Deputy was transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center.

At this time, nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
