1 person injured, firefigthers continue to battle house fire in Vestavia Hills

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Vestavia Hills Fire Department and Mountain Brook Fire Department continue to put out remnants of this morning’s fire. The fire is under investigation.


ORIGINAL STORY: CBS 42 is on the scene of a house fire located on Canterbury Place. According to Scott Ferrell of Vestavia Hills Fire Department, a call for a house fire came in at 4:23 a.m. The Vestavia Hills Fire Department arrived on the scene and found a house with flames coming from the rear of the structure.

People were inside the home at the time of the fire but managed to get out. One person suffered minor injuries but has not been transported to the hospital.

Due to the size of the fire, Vestavia Hills called for assistance from Mountain Brook Fire Department.

At this time crews are still working to extinguish the fire.
