ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — It’s a busy weekend for Hatching Hope. Recently, the organization unveiled it’s new storefront location in Alabaster and they are hosting a warehouse blowout sale on Friday and Saturday. This weekend also marks Serve Day.

One project that they are excited to promote involves up-and-coming volunteers. They are asking kids to come in to the Alabaster store from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday to put together the ‘Henry’ bears that are given to disaster victims. They’ll also be writing notes of encouragement.

All of these projects and events coincide with the approach of Tropical Storm Barry. Hatching Hope officials tell us they have been keeping a close eye on the storm, and that they are prepared to load up the Hatching Hope truck with relief kits and head for the impacted areas. Proceeds from the sale of items from the storefront go back to disaster relief.
