LOUISVILLE, Ky. (CNN/WIAT) — A Kentucky man who admitted to raping an 8-year-old girl, hitting her over the head with a shove and stealing her iPad appeared in court Monday.
Cane Madden admitted to the crimes and was entered into a not guilty plea by the judge on his behalf.
Madden has had a long criminal history. He’s reportedly had nine cases brought against him with eight of them being dismissed. All were dismissed because of his incompetence.
In 2017, Madden was admitted to a sexual assault where he bit the victim and removed a large chunk of her face. He also told detectives he would kill the woman and she would “end up in a body bag.”
A judge in that case found Madden incompetent to stand trial and the charges were dismissed.
Madden’s public defender asked the judge for these charges to be dropped as well.
Madden will remain behind bars on a $1 million bond. He is due back in court later this month.
