BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham quarterback Luis Perez was replaced by Keith Price in the first half of the Iron’s loss to Orlando. Head coach Tim Lewis said the starting spot is still up for grabs entering week six of the season against San Diego.
“Well we’re going to figure it out, they’re grinding it out. It’s a competitive atmosphere and that’s kind of how I left it,” Lewis said, “I’ll let you know come Saturday, I’ll have an idea. Right now they’re both taking reps with the first group, so we’ll see.”
The Iron have it’s last two home games after starting the season 3-0.
“Just keep with it and just let guys know there’s always a wall, however you get through that wall is based on yourself. You can’t blame it on coach, you can’t blame it on the next player, you’ve got to look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that’s my position and I have to win every battle,” said Iron running back Trent Richardson.
