Injured Tarrant firefighter making improvement in Atlanta rehab facility

TARRANT, Ala. (WIAT) — The Tarrant firefighter injured while battling a house fire is in rehab in Atlanta. 

According to Tarrant Fire Chief Jason Rickels, Jerry Presley is showing some slight improvement. Presley fell from a ladder while fighting the house fire in late January.

The community is still reaching out to help the firefighter’s family. A chili cook-off will be held this Saturday, March 9 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Organizers say proceeds will go to help Presley’s family with increasing medical bills and expenses. The cook-off will be held on Ford Avenue in Tarrant, near the Tarrant Public Library.
