CENTRAL ALABAMA, Ala. (WIAT) — There are plenty of Independence Day events going on in Central Alabama for you and your family to enjoy. Here’s a list of events, including one at American Village!
The American Village
It’s called “Independence Day 1776” at the American Village. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and goes on until 10 p.m. on July 4.
The cost is $5 Admission is free to veterans, active military and children under the age of 4. Gates will open at 11 a.m.
Organizers say there will be family-friendly events going on all day. The American Village is located on Highway 119 in Montevallo. CBS 42 is a proud sponsor of this event.
July 3: Fire On The Water at Oak Mountain State Park
Gates open at 7 a.m.
Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

Begins at 9 p.m.

4th Of July at the Zoo
The Birmingham Zoo invites families and friends to come out and join all the fun at the zoo. In honor of this holiday, the zoo is giving free admission to veterans as well as all active and retired military and their dependents. Bring your proof of military service.
