CENTRAL ALABAMA, Ala. (WIAT) — There are plenty of Independence Day events going on in Central Alabama for you and your family to enjoy. Here’s a list of events, including one at American Village!

Fireworks Fourth of July_179611

The American Village

It’s called “Independence Day 1776” at the American Village. The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and goes on until 10 p.m. on July 4.

The cost is $5 Admission is free to veterans, active military and children under the age of 4. Gates will open at 11 a.m.

Organizers say there will be family-friendly events going on all day. The American Village is located on Highway 119 in Montevallo. CBS 42 is a proud sponsor of this event.

July 3: Fire On The Water at Oak Mountain State Park

Gates open at 7 a.m.

Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

Free with entrance to park

Alabaster Fireworks Show

Begins at 9 p.m.

Viewing Sites:

  • Plaza Circle and Plaza Drive
  • Alabaster YMCA sports fields
  • The area surrounding Publix
  • Municipal Park
  • Larry Simmons and its surrounding areas

July 4: Annual Fireworks Show at Vulcan (Thunder on the Mountain)

4th Of July at the Zoo

The Birmingham Zoo invites families and friends to come out and join all the fun at the zoo. In honor of this holiday, the zoo is giving free admission to veterans as well as all active and retired military and their dependents. Bring your proof of military service.

Independence Day and Jake the Diamond Dog at Regions Field

6 p.m.

Come see Jake the Diamond Dog as he entertains fans.

Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Community Celebration

Smith Lake Park Fireworks & Music Festival

Day full of arts and crafts, food, live music and fireworks. Park admission is $5.

Free Concert At UAB

UAB Bartow’s Arena

7 p.m.

Audience members are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and picnics to enjoy the concert.

Water slides, live music, food vendors and fireworks at dark, event begins at 4 p.m.

July 7: 2019 Annual Patriotic Sunday Celebration

More Than Conquerors Faith Church

The service will include patriotic music and there will be a celebration for those who serve. The service will begin at 10 a.m.
