HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) – Hoover Police arrested Richard Alan Gamble Friday at his home in the 3700 block of Haven View Circle for possession of child pornography.

Captain Gregg Rector says the 60-year-old dropped off his personal computer to be repaired on March 2nd. After examining the computer, the technician noticed obscene photos of young girls under the age of 17 and notified police.

Officials obtained a search warrant for the computer in which they found several images of child pornography. An arrest warrant was then issued charging Gamble with possession of obscene matter containing persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts.

He was taken to the Hoover City Jail and then transferred to the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham. He was held on a $5,000 bond.

Captain Rector says it’s possible that more charges could be filed. Anyone with information on illegal activity involving Gamble should contact Detective Ryan Smith at 205-739-7499.
