HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — Over a dozen people have been arrested in charged in an ongoing prostitution and human trafficking case the Homewood Police Department had been working.
According to a release by the HPD, the department’s vice and narcotics unit conducted a prostitution and human trafficking operation on July 11 in Homewood. The operation, which was in conjunction with the FBI, was part of the FBI’s months long effort, Operation Independence Day, to combat human trafficking.
Multiple arrest were made at hotels on Lakeshore Parkway and Oxmoor Road. The following individuals were arrested and charged:
-Tracy Guest, 31, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; promoting prostitution
-Cassey Tully, 26, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Elizabeth Hall, 35, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Kelly James, 21, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Carlie Patel, 27, of Hueytown; promoting prostitution
-April Riley, 29, of Bessemer; promoting prostitution
-Kristal Higgins, 36, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Christyuan Mitchell, 31, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Jennifer Alexander, 36, of Russellville; promoting prostitution
-James Cain, 53, of Montgomery; promoting prostitution and unlawful possession of a controlled substance
-Courtney White, 38, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution and unlawful possession of a controlled substance
-Wendall Graves, 55, of West Blocton; promoting prostitution
-Theodoric Boglin, 23, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution
-Lawrence Grant, 37, of Birmingham; promoting prostitution and failure to comply
