Multi-state outbreak of Salmonella linked to Kellogg's Honey Smacks Cereal

(WIAT) - The Center for Disease Control (CDC) released a new announcement on a multi-state salmonella outbreak reportedly linked to Kellogg's Honey Smacks Cereal.

73 people were reported ill from 31 states, including 24 people who have been hospitalized due to the Salmonella outbreak, according to a release from the CDC.

The CDC advises consumers to throw away or return Kellog's Honey Smacks Cereal, to the place of purchase for a refund.

People fall ill from Salmonella  approximately 12 to 72 hours after swallowing the germ and experience diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, according to the release.
