Graysville reinstates police department

News

GRAYSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Graysville hasn’t had a police department in over a decade. That changed this week and residents couldn’t be happier.

McKinsley Marbury is chief at the Graysville Police Department, but is also the chief of the Oakman Police Department. Like him, all officers at this station are part-time, with full-time jobs at other stations. The goal is to eventually be able to offer full-time positions in Graysville once more resources or available.

Marbury said his goal is to treat the community the way he wants to be treated.

“Yes, the main thing we’re looking to do is make the people comfortable, but want to make sure they’re abiding by the rules and regulations of the law,” Marbury said.

If you’d like a chance to meet these men and women in blue, the station is holding a meet and greet on Thursday.
