Governor Bentley comes to Birmingham, lays out upcoming plans

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Governor Bentley said he would most likely name the replacement judges in Roy Moore’s appeal case by the end of the week.

Bentley spoke about the ongoing process in Birmingham Tuesday, when he outlined how the process of picking those arrangements would go.

The Alabama Supreme Court justices will pick from retired judges, and if those judges don’t recuse themselves, then Governor Bentley will select those judges. He can also fill in those selections that recuse themselves.

Bentley also spoke about the newly formed gaming committee. The full committee was announced last week. Bentley said he wants them to look at every issue related to gaming in the state. Nothing if off limits.
