Fundraiser set for injured Tarrant firefighter

TARRANT, Ala. (WIAT) — The community continues to rally behind the family of a Tarrant firefighter injured on the job last month. 

Lt. Jerry Presley was injured last month while battling a house fire.

Tarrant fire chief Jason Rickels tells CBS 42 that Presley remains in the hosptial, and seems to be getting better. 

“I go in there and talk to him, I go in there and call him by name he opens his eyes and answers appropriately with head nods, yes or no to questions, he follows simple commands he’s getting better day by day,” said Rickels. 

On Tap Sports Cafe in Fultondale will be donating a portion of Thursday’s earnings to Lt. Presley and his family to help in his recorvery.
