BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — In the coming months, there will be six new Rally’s restaurants opening in the Birmingham area.
Donnell Thompson, who played in the NFL from 1981 to 1991, told CBS 42’s Alissa Rothermich that there were six Rally’s locations that would be opening in Birmingham, Bessemer and Jasper and six more to open sometime down the road.
One location in Midfield recently opened with the Bessemer location set to open Sept. 24.
Thompson, who played for the Baltimore Colts and Indianapolis Colts, has worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. In fact, Thompson worked for the McDonald’s for seven years during the off season when he was playing football. He has also operated Del Taco franchises and previously operated different McDonald’s, Choice Hotels, Zaxby’s and Denny’s.
Thompson said there has been a great response in the community for Rally’s and that they can expect great food and service.
“Our food probably sells itself,” he said.
Thompson said that by the end of building the restaurants, there will be 300 jobs created in the area.
