PROVO, UTAH – (CBS) We are following breaking news of a massive 250-acre wildfire spreading in Provo, Utah.

Authorities say the wildfire is burning south of Provo early Wednesday. About 10 p.m. Tuesday, Provo Fire and Rescue received numerous calls about a fire above the Bonneville Shore Line on the south end of town, that’s according to a Facebook post from Provo Police Department.

Utah Fire Information, the wildfire has been named the Alaska Fire by the Uinta- Wasatch-Cache National Forest due to its location.

The fire has been turned over to the Forest Service after Provo Fire worked the fire most of the night.

According to both agencies, the fire is no longer a threat to any structures and no evacuations are in place.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
