Fire at Full Moon BBQ destroys kitchen, closes restaurant on Hwy 280

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Firefighters responded to a fire at Full Moon Bar-B-Que early Monday morning. 

Cahaba Valley Fire Department received a call around 5:30 a.m. When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke showing from the structure. 

Flames in the kitchen area caused significant damage. The restaurant will remain closed, according to Battalion Chief John Yancy. 

Birmingham Fire and Hoover Fire also responded to the scene to assist. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
