Family posting flyers in hopes of finding missing Hoover teen

The family of 18-year-old Ajah Blackledge has not seen or heard from her since Monday, January 29. They are hoping the teenager returns home safely.

Hoover Police said Blackledge was last scene on Highway 31 driving a 2008 gold Ford Fusion.

Sunday, family members spent the day posting flyers all around Birmingham.

“We are flooding the areas we think that Ajah had been in around with posters,” said Ajah’s grandfather Kenneth Blackledge.

Kenneth Blackledge tells CBS 42 his granddaughter, who attends Lawson State, means so much to him and the family.

“Know that we love has her,” Blackledge said. “Among our family, we have a lot less laughter and a lot less smiles.”

In total, Blackledge tells CBS 42 they have passed out around a thousand flyers.

“All we can do is hope and pray for the best,” said Blackledge.
