Family and friends come out to hold vigil for 14-year-old D.J. Wynn

TARRANT, Ala. (WIAT) — Family members are preparing to say goodbye to a 14-year-old shot and killed inside a car at a gas station. Last night, friends of Daijon “D.J.” Wynn surrounded his mother for a vigil. They gathered at the Senior Center in Tarrant. Laness Wynn says the supports right now means everything.

She also shared advice for other teenagers.

Laness Wynn, mother of “DJ” Wynn said, “I want all of the teenagers to see and use this as an example of put the guns down because you don’t know what you’re doing. You don’t know, I’m sorry, just put the guns down and it took Dajon DJ Wynn to be gone for y’all to really understand what was going on. Put the guns down babies.”

Visitation for D.J Wynn is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral is Saturday at noon at 22nd Avenue Baptist Church.
