Fairhope firefighter facing new child sex crime allegations

A volunteer Fairhope firefighter, already facing child sex crime charges in Northwest Florida, is now also facing charges in Baldwin County

Aaron Green — seen smiling in his latest booking photo — was booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center Tuesday morning on charges of child sex abuse and sodomy.

According to Daphne Police, Green was arrested Monday, and the alleged abuse happened in November 2017.

Police say the alleged victim was under 12.

Green was already accused of using the Kik app to try and meet a minor for sex in Walton County. Green allegedly arranged to meet someone he thought was a girl, but who was actually an undercover investigator with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

Green was arrested June 7 in the Walton County case. According to jail records, he was let out on a $50,000 bond. He’s charged there with traveling to meet a child for sex after using a computer, using a communication device to commit a felony and displaying a weapon during a felony.

Daphne Police said the Baldwin County case did not involve social media and Green knew his alleged victim.

Green was suspended from the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department after the allegations surfaced. Because of the new charges in Daphne, the department will meet Tuesday night to discuss removing Green from the team.

“Should Mr. Green be found innocent of these charges, he’s welcome to resubmit his application. Based on what we’ve learned, we feel the best thing for our department is to immediately break ties with Mr. Green,” Chief Chris Ellis said.
