Explosion, fire damages Mulga home


MULGA, Ala. (WIAT)– A fire that heavily damaged a Mulga home may have started after explosions were heard Saturday afternoon.

The fire happened at a home on Roosevelt Avenue around 2:00 p.m. Neighbors tell WIAT42 News that two explosions were heard, then smoke and flames began coming from the residence. The owner was not home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters spent most of the afternoon containing the blaze.  A cause has not been determined at this time.
