Drunk and disruptive passenger charged in flight diverted to Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A Tennessee man has been formally charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

During a flight from Tampa to Nashville, Logan Polley, 25, became disruptive during the flight assaulting a flight attendant. Passengers were able to restrain Polley while the flight wad diverted to Birmingham at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport. The flight attendant was not injured.

Once the plane landed, Birmingham Police officers attempted to remove Polley from the plane and he became confrontational and resisted the officers. However, they were able to gain control of the suspect and remove him from the plane.

Sgt. Shelton said officers observed that the passenger was highly intoxicated. No passengers were injured and it is unknown if the flight attendant will press charges. Polley, from Franklin, Tenn. has already posted bond from Birmingham city jail.
