BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — This Saturday, your family is invited to join the fun in District 8! The 12th annual Party With A Purpose is happening at Ensley Park and Rec Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s Party features giveaways, food, fun and prizes. There’s also health fairs, on-site job recruiting and power-packed entertainment! Attendees will also receive a special surprise during the Party.

North American On-Site is hiring for immediate production and assembly jobs for Mercedes-Benz in Vance. A representative will be in attendance to accept hundreds of applications. Qualified candidates must have one year of fast food, department store or similar light industrial experience and have lived in Alabama for one year. Pay rates are $15 per hour with multiple shifts available.

Birmingham City Councilor and District 8 rep Steven Hoyt started Party With A Purpose back in 2007 as a way to curb violence in the community by offering health, recreational and entertainment resources with a family friendly atmosphere.

This year’s Party With A Purpose is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th. It’s happening at Ensley Park and Rec Center on Avenue K in Birmingham.
