TROY, Ala. (WIAT) — The search for Birmingham City Schools teacher Kelsey Starling came and went Friday with no sign of the missing boater.
The depth of Smith Lake again proved to make things difficult for officials to possibly find any clues that could lead to the recovery of Starling.
Starling was involved in a two-boat crash on Smith Lake on the Fourth of July and has not been seen since.
Authorities have used helicopters, sonar, boats and divers to locate Starling to no avail. With depths of Smith Lake reaching 211 feet below the surface, locating Starling could take much longer than anyone would like.
The search for Starling will continue this weekend. Authorities are asking boaters to be safe this weekend if traveling to the lake.
