25-year-old charged in Tarrant shooting death of teen

TARRANT, Ala. (WIAT) - 7/10, 3:30 PM UPDATE: Tarrant Police say they have charged 25-year-old Hakeem Gamble in the shooting death of 16-year-old Nathaniel Holder.

Gamble has been charged with capital murder and is in the Jefferson County Jail being held without bond.

7/10, 11:37 AM UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Nathaniel Holder of Birmingham. 

7/9, 4:55 PM UPDATE: Tarrant Police say the 16-year-old shot on Sunday has passed away at UAB Hospital.

Police say a suspect is in custody and charges are pending.

Tarrant police are investigating a shooting that took place this afternoon. 

According to Officer Jay Jenkins, a 16-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1100 block of Alabama Street. The shooting stemmed from an argument that happened at another location. The victim is currently in surgery with life-threatening injuries. 

Around 9:15 pm., Police took a man into custody in connection to the shooting with pending charges. He was arrested at the Budget Motel on the 1500 block of Bankhead Highway.
