Suspect demands drugs before robbery in CVS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place at a CVS store in the 600 block of Tuscaloosa Ave.

Around 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Police say a suspect approached the pharmacy with a note demanding various drugs.

The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of drugs, Sgt. Johnny Williams says.

Investigators believe the suspect is possibly connected with another robbery that took place at the Green Springs Walgreens.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on the identity of the suspect to contact BPD Robbery Detectives at 205-254-1753 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
