Roebuck credit union robbery suspect turns himself in after mother sees report on television

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Birmingham Police are asking for help finding two persons of interest in the America’s First Credit Union robbery.

Police ask that if anyone recognizes the individuals or sees them to call police or Detective Brooks at 254-1753.

UPDATE: Birmingham Police have announced that the suspect in the American First Credit Union robbery has turned himself in. The suspect reportedly turned himself in Wednesday night after his mother saw the report on television.

ORIGINAL: There was reportedly a bank robbery at America’s First Credit Union at 724 Crow Drive in the Roebuck area of Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon.

The unmasked suspect reportedly walked into the bank, presented a note to the tellers and left with an “undetermined amount of money.”

Birmingham police are investigating and the FBI says they are looking for a black male suspect who is approximately 6’3 and 170 pounds.
