SAWYERVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — Police are investigating an active crime scene involving two people who were murdered in Sawyerville.
According to Hale County District Attorney Michael Jackson, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a double murder involving Devyn Sterling and Shalondria Grey-Chavers, both of whom were 24 and were dating at the time of their deaths. He said the murders happened Friday night with the bodies being found Sunday in a shed near Topaz Road.
Jackson said two 16-year-old suspects had been arrested and charged with capital murder. The suspects’ name has not been released. In addition, 20-year-old Damyan Holifield, Jr. and Cardell Wynn, 18 were charged with hindering prosecution.
The case is under investigation.
