FORESTDALE, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says that two armed, masked men robbed the BB&T located at 1600 block of Forestdale Boulevard.

Randy Christian with the Sheriff’s Office said that deputies arrived on the scene around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon to investigate reports of a robbery.

Christian said the deputies learned two men armed with handguns and wearing masks demanded money while inside the bank. The suspects fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. According to Christian, no vehicle was seen.

Sgt. Jack Self released surveillance photos from the robbery. Self said the suspects’ faces were not visible, but they hope someone may recognize the clothing.

No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the robbery, Christian said.

Authorities ask that anyone with information contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
