TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Officers found a man dead after he was shot Sunday evening at Aspen Village Apartment Homes, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Tuscaloosa Police say they found Namarcus Giles, Jr. shot dead at the scene. Residents at the apartment said Giles was in a relationship with a woman living there and had been physically abusive.

Residents told police that Giles made threats to come to the apartment and later arrived, tore the door down, and began attacking her. As this was happening the other resident at the apartment armed himself and shot Giles.

Police said evidence on scene and witness accounts are consistent with what the apartment residents claimed. No one has been arrested at this time.
