JeffCo deputies make arrest in pawn shop burglary


UPDATE — April 12, 2019 —

Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has made an arrest in relation to the pawn shop robbery on Thursday, April 11. Sheriff’s investigators and ATF agents have arrested 18-year-old Devonte Tubbs for the burglary of Lee’s Pawn shop in Center Point.

In addition, investigators have also recovered three of seven of the guns that were stolen. Tubbs’ is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $60,000 bond. 

This investigation is ongoing. 


JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery at a store on Center Point Parkway. 

Just before 5 a.m., the sheriff’s office received an alarm call from Lee’s Pawn on the 2000 block of Center Point Parkway. A deputy was on the scene before the call could be dispatched and found a hole in the rear wall, Captain David Agee said. 

Deputies cleared the building and found an unknown number of guns missing. The burglars left evidence on the scene that sheriff’s deputies will process. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
