HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — Hoover Police obtained warrants for a man involved in an armed robbery who is already charged with robbery and assault of a conveniences store in north Jefferson County.
On Thursday, December 6, Hoover Police responded to the North parking deck at the Riverchase Galleria after a woman reported being robbed at gunpoint of her 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. She described the suspect to police who then continued to investigate.
During investigation, officers learned about a vehicle theft case that took place in Birmingham earlier that day involving the same suspect. That vehicle from the Birmingham robbery was found in the J.C. Penny parking lot. Detectives then learned that the Nissan Pathfinder was spotted in the Atlanta are hours after it was stolen.
On Monday, Hoover detectives were contacted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s investigators about the armed robbery that happened at a convenience store in the 6700 block of Alabama Highway 79 in Jefferson County’s jurisdiction. The suspect, Albert Ward III was arrested and evidence was discovered that provided a break in the Hoover Galleria robbery case.
Ward is now charged in the Galleria parking deck robbery with first-degree robbery with a total bond of $150,000 and remains in the Jefferson County Jail.
