HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — Two 20-year-old men have been charged by the Hoover Police Department for an alleged armed robbery that happened early Tuesday morning.

Tyler Lamar Stringer and Kieron Tarez Childress have both been charged with first-degree armed robbery, with Childress receiving an additional charge of attempting to elude.

At 12:42 a.m. Tuesday, Hoover police were called to The Park at Hoover apartments regarding a robbery. According to police, the victim stated two men got out of a white passenger car and approached him in the parking lot, telling him they were armed and demanding his vehicle. The white vehicle sped away from the same area and refused to stop for other responding officers. The vehicle was pursued to the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and Center Place in Birmingham. The second suspect was captured after a brief foot chase.

Stringer is being held on a $20,000 bond while Childress is being held on a $60,300 bond.
