Homewood Police searching for bank robbery suspect

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — UDPATE: Homewood Police are investigating a robbery at the BBVA Compass Bank located just off of Lakeshore Drive. Police received a call of a robbery in progress just before 10 am on Tuesday from a teller inside the bank.

They are currently looking for a young white male who reportedly left the bank heading towards Lakeshore on foot.The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, and he was wearing a shoulder-length dark wig, a white shirt, khaki pants and a khaki hat with red lettering.

Police said it’s possible a second suspect, a black male in all black clothing, awaited and picked up the first suspect.

The Homewood Police Department says that BBVA was the only business affected.
