AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) – On Monday evening, Caley Presley, a five-year-old female victim of aggravated child abuse, was pronounced dead at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.
Presley died as a result of injuries sustained allegedly at the hands of her step-father, George W. Barton, a press release from the Auburn Police Department confirmed.
Barton had previously been charged with domestic violence first degree and aggravated child abuse in relation to the victim’s injuries. Auburn detectives are now in the process of obtaining felony arrest warrants against Barton for capital murder.
