TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder that happened early Sunday morning, around 3:40 a.m.
Lt. Kip Hart, Assistant Commander with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said deputies responded to a call of a shooting at 528 Bear Creek Road East. Upon arrival, they found the body of a 29-year-old black male lying in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials believe the victim was involved in an argument and altercation with someone when he was shot by a 16-year-old, identified as Cameron Ke-shun Travis. Travis and the victim lived together at another location, according to Hart.
Travis is currently being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail and will be charged as an adult with murder. His bond totals $50,000.
The victim is Mareek Marcella Boykins.
