Coming up: Maori Davenport eligibility hearing

News

(WIAT) — One high school basketball player will soon find out if she’s eligible to finish her senior season at Charles Henderson High School. Maori Davenport was ruled ineligible by the AHSAA last November over a check from Team USA Basketball after Davenport played for the team last Summer.

Last week, a circuit judge granted Davenport a temporary restraining order that allowed her to hit the court for the first time this season. The Troy Messenger reports that Davenport and AHSAA officials will be part of a hearing next Tuesday in Pike County over her eligibility.
