Childersburg police search for man wanted for capital murder

CHILDERSBURG, Ala. (WIAT) — Authorities are searching for a man wanted in Childersburg for capital murder. 

Kev’vakius Jalik Jemison, 19, is a suspect in a homicide investigation that happened Saturday Aug. 4. Around 8:15 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of 4th Street South East. 35-year-old Homer Deshawn Calloway suffered a gunshot wound in his home and later died.

Childersburg police say Jemison may be in the Talladega Downs area of Talladega. Jemison is described as 6-feet 1-inch, 215 pounds, brown eyes and black hair. He is to be considered armed and dangerous, according to police. 

A cash reward for information leading to his arrest is being offered through Metro Alabama Crime stoppers is being offered.
