TONIGHT: The sky will stay mainly clear this evening and temperatures will stay fairly warm overnight into Tuesday. Lows expected in the low 70s.
TUESDAY: Essentially more of the same in the forecast for tomorrow…hot and sunny weather statewide. Highs should be a few degrees cooler than today, but still hot nonetheless and remaining dry with highs in the mid 90s.
REST OF THE WEEK: HOT and DRY will remain the big weather story in Alabama for all of this upcoming week. A strong upper-level ridge over the Eastern US will result in high temperatures staying anywhere from 8 to 10° above average statewide.
The only notable chances of rain will come on Wednesday & Thursday with a few pop-up showers possible, but those chances are LOW at 20%.
TROPICS: While Dorian no longer has any lingering impact on the United States, we are going to need to watch the Atlantic Basin closely through the week. A wave off of Africa is likely to become more organized and has a 50 percent chance of development over the next five days. It looks like this storm will track towards the Lesser Antilles through the week. We also have Tropical Storm Gabrielle out in the mid Atlantic. This storm poses no threat to land.
