Yes, it’s going to be hot again today, but some more clouds and a little bit more rain should help some lucky spots stay cooler than others. Highs will mostly get to the low and mid 90s again with a few outliers hitting the upper 90s. Not everyone will get rain, but those that do will get some heat relief.
We will also have more clarity today on the potential tropical system brewing in the Gulf of Mexico. Right now, it appears any tropical depression or tropical storm wouldn’t have much impact on our weather here. It would mainly be a rain-maker for coastal sections of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, with the greatest impacts in Louisiana with up to eight inches of rain possible. We’ll continue to track these developments through the week.
We are very confident in rain chances appearing in the forecast by Thursday and Friday as a cold front moves in. The heaviest rain potential looks to be on Friday as the front stalls out over us and moisture from the Gulf continues to stream in. Clouds and rain will keep temperatures in check, with highs only reaching the mid and upper 80s.
The weekend and beginning of next week forecast will rely on what happens with the tropical system in the Gulf so stay tuned.
