BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling Pratt Highway in the Sandusky community Tuesday before 11 a.m. when they conducted a traffic stop.
The stop was initiated for an improper turn near Pratt Highway and Elba Avenue. Two men were in the car, and deputies noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the car during the stop, at which point the two men admitted to having smoked marijuana in the car earlier.
After a search of the vehicle was conducted, deputies discovered more than 16 grams of heroin, prescription narcotics, digital scales and U.S. currency.
Ronald Deion Hodge, 22, and Dimarcus Desan Hodge, 24, both of Birmingham, were arrested.
Ronald was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and has already posted his $5000 bond and been released.
Dimarcus was charged with trafficking heroin and has already posted his $5000 bond and been released.
