MUNFORD, Ala. (WIAT) — The latest on the murder investigation in Munford involving a mother and her two children (all times local):
16-year-old son charged with capital murder after mother, 2 brothers fatally stabbed in Munford
Talladega County District Attorney Steve Giddens announced that Landon Durham, 16, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the case.
Durham was Christina’s son and brother to Branson and Baron.
“For it to happen here really hits home,” Giddens said. “Munford, like all communities in this area, are pretty close-knit and I know they are hurting.”
Giddens did not discuss any possible motives in the case. However, he did say it appears Durham’s mother and two brothers may have been dead as early as Tuesday morning.
Durham is currently being held in the Talladega County Jail.

Sheriff: 2 juveniles, woman fatally stabbed in Munford home; person in custody
According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, a person of interest was taken into custody in Cherokee County Wednesday morning in connection with the Talladega County case in Munford, where three people were found dead.
Breaking: Three people found dead in Munford house identified
In a social media post by the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office, the victims of Tuesday night’s homicide have been identified as Holli Christina Durham, 36, Branson Durham, 13, and Baron Durham, 13. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the cause of death is due to stab wounds.
Breaking: Three people found dead in Munford house
Authorities in East Alabama are investigating after three people were found dead in a house in Munford.
According to a Facebook post by the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a house on Roy Lackey Lane in Munford on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found three individuals dead inside the house.
Investigators say they are actively following leads and processing the scene for evidence. They have not released the name of the victims and the cause of death.
