Bo Bikes Bama for disaster relief efforts

AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — Sports legend Bo Jackson and Governor Kay Ivey are teaming up to raise money for disaster relief. The Bo Bikes Bama Charity Bike Ride was started in 2012, a year after the April 27 tornadoes. Proceeds benefit the governor’s emergency relief fund.

This year’s ride takes place on Saturday, eight years after those deadly tornadoes. There is a 20-mile ride and a 60-mile ride. Governor Ivey will join Jackson on stage to kick off the event. Since 2012, the event has raised more than $1.5 million for the relief fund.
