Birmingham set to receive two elephants from San Diego

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Zoo is set to receive two male African elephants from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

9-year-old Lutsandvo and 10-year-old Ingadze were both born at the Safari Park and share the same father but have different mothers. .

Both elephants are getting acclimated to the new environment right now and will be in the habitat for visitors to see in early July.

The two bulls will join the Birmingham Zoo’s older resident, Bulwagi, in the only all-male heard in the country.
