Birmingham, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Bulls haven’t been in the SPHL long, but Friday they get a chance to do something that has never been done before.

The Bulls will begin a three game series with rival Huntsville for the Southern Professional Hockey League championship.

In all the years professional hockey has been played in Birmingham, no team has won a championship, the Bulls hope that in just their 2nd season they can end that drought.

Game one is Friday at the Pelham Civic Complex with the puck dropping at 7:30 PM.
