Beauregard High School holds prayer vigil for tornado victims

BEAUREGARD, Ala. (WIAT) — High School students at Beauregard High School joined together Monday morning to hold a prayer vigil for the members of their community affected by the storm.

They gathered in the gym and held hands in a prayer circle.  Students there say they did not know if any of the fatalities are high school students yet, but say several of their friends have been affected by the storm’s destruction.

One student says he never imagined this happening in his home.

“It’s just it really is horrible,” Joseph Perrella, a junior at Beauregard High School said, “There hasn’t really been anything like this that’s ever happened here before and it’s really terrible seeing the destructions that it’s caused, and see the lives that it’s scarred and the people it’s hurt and there’s not really words to describe the carnage it’s fricked.”

Perrella said he hopes he can help people heal after the tragic storm that swept through the town.
