ATLANTA, GA. (WIAT) — Auburn baseball is back in the NCAA Tournament Super Regional “Sweet 16” after the Tigers earned it’s second consecutive regional crown. Auburn swept the Atlanta region with 3 weekend wins, two coming against the host team (3) Georgia Tech.
In the regional finale, Auburn starting pitcher Bailey Horn served 6 shutout innings. Tigers outfielder Steven Williams came up big at the plate with a two-RBI, double in the 6th inning to give Auburn a 3-0 lead.
Georgia Tech didn’t go away quietly, but Auburn held off the Yellow Jackets, 4-1, to advance to the Super Regional series against North Carolina.
