BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The two teenagers charged with the murder of an army veteran and father from Hoover are back in court for the second time in two days.
This time, the teens have one less charge against them.
In a Birmingham court on Thursday, a judge dismissed attempted murder charges against Charleston Wells and Ahmad Johnson. They were originally charged in a shooting that happened back in January along with the February murder of Mike Gilotti.
Investigators have charged the teens in a string of crimes across Jefferson and Tuscaloosa counties. They say that Gilotti was shot and killed after coming across a vehicle break-in in his Lake Cyrus neighborhood.
Wells, Johnson and two other teens are facing capital murder charges in the case.
