Alabama school systems ranked 46th in U.S., report says

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Alabama’s school systems have been named the 46th best in the country according to WalletHub’s 2019 report.

The personal finance website took all 50 states and the District of Columbia and ranked them across 29 measurements. Some of the measurements included pupil-teacher ratio, drop out rate and median standardized-test scores.

Alabama finished 48th in math test scores, 44th in quality and 47th in safety.

Massachusetts finished with the top school system ranking while New Mexico finished in last.
